Iris and Joost wanted to get married in the woods. In May, they said yes to each other at De Mof in Leusden.
The forest on the Utrecht Ridge lent itself fantastically to this spring wedding. And it shows in the beautiful, green surroundings and fresh light in the photos.
I got to be there again from dressing up, with both bride and groom in the Kwakel. For me, it is always a great start to the day when I not only get to capture special moments, but also get a taste of the atmosphere of the day and get to know the protagonists of this important day. And the protagonists of this wedding were open, nice people who gave me all the space I needed. As a result, I quickly felt at home, which is reflected in the report.
The moment this beautiful bride and her handsome groom saw each other for the first time, the so-called “first look” moment, was emotional and intimate. Remains special that I get to capture that for later.
Iris and Joost are clearly very fond of each other, because the love splashed off during the shoot. The advantage of the shoot before the ceremony is that the tension is still nice and the excitement and love shimmers through the air.
That excitement, of course, came to a head at the ceremony itself. The ceremony was done to perfection by Wedding in the Woods. Having a wedding in the woods is a beautiful thing to be, especially if you’re lucky with the weather, and they were! After saying the sweetest things about and to each other in their vows and saying yes to each other, of course it was time for the rings. The ring bearer was a very special guest; their beloved dog Lola came to bring the rings. In a straight line she came sprinting toward her owners. Beautiful to see how a pet can be part of “the best day of your life” and give the ring wearing that extra something.
When a day begins so lovingly, the tone is set. The dinner featured many speeches that once again echoed the love for each other and all loved ones. With all official business behind us after dinner, the discharge followed in a smashing evening party with a cool laser show.
