The Orangery at Groot Warnsborn Estate near Arnhem is a historic place in beautiful, natural surroundings. Therefore, it is the ideal place for the most beautiful day of your life.

Getting married at Landgoed Groot Warnsborn in Arnhem

So Marieke and Luuk chose to say yes at this fairytale location. And I had the honor of shooting the wedding coverage on this loving day.

If you want to start your wedding day relaxed and in a festive mood, staying overnight at the wedding venue is a good idea. Not only does it save a lot of cleanup and preparation at home, it’s also a wonderful backdrop for capturing getting-ready. That is exactly what this bride and groom did. Mariekes hair and makeup were done by Natasja’s Haarmode in a stylish attic suite in the Landhuis of Landgoed Groot Warnsborn, near Arnhem.

Marieke and Luuk chose to stay in one location for the entire wedding day. This has the advantage of peace of mind and no time wasted moving from one location to another. That Landgoed Groot Warnsborn is located on the edge of the Veluwe, in the midst of a vast forest full of babbling brooks, romantic bridges and ancient trees, makes it a fantastic location for the photo shoot, as you can see.

It is increasingly common for a couple to choose not to get married until the evening. The advantage of this is that you have quiet time during the day to spend time with your loved ones without interruption.

Marieke and Luuk said yes during golden hour, the hour just before sunset. The beautiful golden yellow light is really a gift to me, it adds an extra dimension to the photos of the ceremony.

Hiring your own chosen registrar (Babs) is something more and more couples are doing. A hired Babs makes the wedding ceremony more personal and often there is more personalization possible, which is reflected in the wedding photos. Marieke and Luuk had the ceremony officiated by a Babs from Mag Ik Jullie Trouwen. The floral display was provided by Nozili.

The magnificent terraced garden of the orangery hosted the romantic outdoor ceremony. I was able to capture the most beautiful drone shots of this, which did a fantastic job of capturing the splendor of the gardens and the decor.

The Orangery at Landgoed Groot Warnsborn is a member of the Confrérie du Sabre d’Or. That is, they have mastered opening a bottle of champagne with a saber. This so-called sabring by the groom makes the toasting moment extra spectacular. Of course I capture this moment, including flying cork, razor-sharp. The rustic naked cake to accompany this cake and toast is from Patisserie Christiaan

Also for the party stayed at the same location. A DJ from Wedding DJ made sure everyone’s feet were off the floor. During the evening party, I often secretly abduct the bride and groom for a brief moment to capture an atmospheric evening, silhouette photograph. It gives a bride and groom the opportunity to celebrate their love together again for a while, and it produces unique photos.
